This Weekend is the final weekend Havencrest Castle in Savanna will be open for tours until the fall. Hours are 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday and the self-guided tours are $25 with veterans and children under 18 at $20.00. Tickets can be purchased at the gate or by going to the website – havencrestcastle.com/tours

     
Starting Friday May 26th through the 28th Mt Carroll will host their annual Mayfest celebration on the Shimer Square campus. Along with live music all weekend there will be crafters & artisans, beer, wine & food tents, art show, kids activities and more. A 5K walk run will be held Saturday morning starting at 8 and the classic car show will be held on Sunday from 9 to 3 in downtown Mt Carroll. Go to the Mayfest FB page for details.


Saturday, May 27th, at 7:30pm the Savanna Museum will welcome Carefree Highwaymen and the music of Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor as part of this month’s “Music at the Museum” series. The group have developed a strong following up and down the Mississippi River and their repertoire includes Gordon Lightfoot material as well as many acoustic based songs. Light refreshments and a variety of wines and beverages will be offered at the event. A donation is always appreciated to help support the Savanna Museum.


Monday, May 29th, the Revitalize Erie organization will host a FREE grab & go breakfast at Margaret Park in the Erie triangle from 8:30am to 11am. There will be breakfast burritos, juice, and coffee to get you fueled for your Memorial Day plans. 

Tuesday, May 30th, Deitrick’s Alpaca Ranch on Lomax Rd in rural Prophetstown is holding an open house where you are invited to meet, greet, feed and learn all about their alpacas. The open house starts at 10 am and admission is $5.00. Follow Deitrick’s Alpaca Ranch on FB for more open house dates being offered in June.
