Saturday, April 1st Erie will hold an Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt starting at 9:00AM. Maps for the event can be picked up at Erie’s new business Rise Up Coffee and Ice Cream. Volunteers will have a table set up in their parking lot for you to swing by and pick up the map of the other 16 locations to visit for prizes, games, and crafts! Friday March 31st the opening awards reception for the annual Phidian Art Show will be held at the Next Picture Show gallery in Dixon from 6-8pm.  This show features the works of local artists in a variety of mediums. The show will be on display at the gallery through April 22nd during regular gallery hours; Tuesday thru Saturday from 10am to 4pm. 


Saturday April 1st the John Deere Historic Site opens for the season. Admission is FREE with regular hours on Tuesday 1-5pm, Wednesday to Saturday 9-5pm and Sunday 1-5pm. Closed on Mondays.


April 1st is opening day for the Ronald Reagan Boyhood Home in Dixon. Public tours are available April through December, on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am – 3pm and admission is free. 


April 1st, the Lanark Fire Department will hold their annual fish fry at the fire station. Hours are 4-8pm and the menu includes regular and beer battered fish, chicken tenders, fries, and all the extras. Tickets at the door are $13 for adults, $5 for kids and children age 5 and under eat free.  


April 1st, you can support the ongoing maintenance and restoration of Stronghold Castle in Oregon by attending the Feathers and Flappers Mystery Dinner. Your ticket includes appetizers, dinner, desserts, and special “Roaring 20s” inspired cocktails. Guests are encouraged to dress in this era-specific theme. Doors open at 5pm. April 1st & 2nd Saturday and Sunday there will be a Craft and Vendor Event at Naaman Diehl Auditorium in Mt Carroll with all proceeds donated to the Humane Society of Carroll County. Hours are 8:30 to 5:30 both Saturday and Sunday and there will be food and baked goods available as well. Admission is a $2 donation. 


April 4th, 5th, & 6th Next Tuesday thru Thursday it’s lunch and a show at the White Pines Lodge in Mt Morris as they present for their theatre-luncheon matinee, a Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton tribute show. This tribute act has the looks, songs, mannerisms, vocals, professionalism, and the magic of the on-stage chemistry between Kenny and Dolly. Seating begins at 11:30am.
