Friday, January 27th the Savanna Museum and Cultural Center kicks off their monthly Music at the Museum for 2023 featuring a live performance by the Pretenders tribute band, the Real Pretenders. The museum will be set up with cabaret style seating and complimentary fine wine will be offered, along with a light snack. A donation of $10 is appreciated to help with the continuation of events and programs at the museum.
RESCHEDULED FROM LAST WEEK! Saturday, January 28th the Mt. Carroll Lions Club will be hosting a free Skate Party at the Rotary Ice Rink located next to the Mt. Carroll swimming pool. All sizes of skates will be available for use along with supports for the novice skaters and there will be propane warmers for spectators. Dress warm and come out from 5 to 8pm for a fun night of skating under the lights. The Lions Club will also provide hotdogs, coffee, and hot chocolate and they will have a wood fire going for roasting marshmallows. The Rotary Rink is also open daily from 10 to 8pm.
Continuing through Feb 18th the Regional Survey of Art Show will be on display at the Next Picture Show in Dixon. This show has been the longest-running and most popular art exhibit at the Next Picture Show and it features the work of over 90 area artists. You can view this exhibit during regular gallery hours Tuesday thru Saturday open 10am-4pm and admission is free.
