December 17th, 18th and 19th, the Prophetstown First Responders are hosting the annual Light Up the Park drive through light display at Prophetstown State Park from 5-8 pm. This event is free but donations will be accepted. Follow the Prophetstown Police FB page for details.

Every Friday, Saturday & Sunday through December you can drive thru the Holiday Light Display at Centennial Park in Rock Falls where local businesses, churches, schools, and other community organizations have decorated the shelters, fire truck, school house, caboose, fence lines, and green space throughout the park with dazzling lights & holiday displays for all to enjoy! Hours are 5 pm to 8 pm and admission is free but donations are appreciated.

December 18th Savanna will hold a Traveling Christmas Parade throughout the downtown starting at 4 pm. A variety of cars, trucks & golf carts will be decked out for Christmas and you are invited to enjoy the festivities from the comfort of your car or in the downtown area. December 18th the Rock City Blues Band will be playing the best in rhythm & blues along with Christmas Blues at the Starlight’s Theatre in downtown Sterling. Doors open at 8 pm and check out the Rock City Blues FB page for details.

Through Dec 18th the Next Picture Show Gallery in Dixon is hosting the Landscape Exhibition that features an all-media exhibit of original works that feature scenes of nature through oil paintings, watercolors, photographs and more.  Gallery hours are Tuesday thru Saturday 10 am to 4 pm.
