Need a place for your 6-12 year olds to go during summer break to hang out with friends, take field trips, keep up on their reading skills, and experience tons of fun? The Village of Tampico’s Cubbies Daycare center offers that and more and has plenty of room for additional students.
The day care is operated by the village and serves as an after school program during the school year, but also offers a summer program. Director Amber Stavenger says the facility offers a wide variety of activities for kids and operates from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM weekdays.
The center is located in the former Tampico Elementary School, now know as the Reagan Community Center and is used by the village for its offices. The building offers students the use of the gym and a fenced in playground.
Students can attend on a full or part-time basis at a cost of $32 per day or $160 per week. That includes breakfast, lunch, and a snack. Discounts are given to families with multiple children and tuition assistance is also available.
Two full-time teachers run the program that features opportunities for reading, math skills, field trips, theme weeks, movie day, life skills, and volunteerism. Stavenger says the program will run through August 12th.
