
Bud Thompson of Prophetstown, recently donated greeting cards to the Ronald Reagan Birthplace Museum in Tampico. The cards feature four murals that Thompson created or assisted with that depict historical events and locations in the Village.
Museum curator, Joan Johnson, was on hand to receive the donation from Thompson and said the cards will be sold in sets of four as a fundraiser for the Museum.
The four murals featured include: The HY&T Railroad Train, that operated between Tampico, Yorktown, and Hooppole; The Ronald Reagan Mural featuring several events in his life; The Smith Brothers Hardware Store; The Tampico Ball Fields.
Mayor Kris Hill said of the donation, “We appreciate Bud’s support for our community with his talent.”
Thompson has been involved in the creation and design of many murals in area towns and villages as well as their upkeep.
The four cards are shown below with each one featuring a brief description of the mural on the reverse side.
