Submitted by Terry Gaskill

The Tampico Lions Club was recently honored for their entry in the 2021 Prophetstown Lighted Christmas Parade with the grand prize. The club’s replica of the HY&T train engine and caboose was picked by the judges as the best overall entry. The float was pulled by Duane Thompson.

A few of the club’s current projects include helping purchase coats for this year’s Toys For Tampico campaign and helping those in need of eye exams and glasses. Please call 2nd Vice Lion Ronald Church at 815-590-1149 for more information.

The Tampico Lions Club (TLC) #280 will meet on Monday, December 13th at the Tampico Area Community Building (TACB) at 6:30 PM. The TLC usually meets on the 2nd & 4th Monday of the month and are on summer break during the months of July & August. Anyone interested in joining the TLC may call Lion Terry Gaskill, Membership Chairperson at 815-535-3665.
