I received a call this week that the Sauk Valley Lions Club has disbanded, how sad. We have members that live outside of the Tampico area and they drive several miles to come to our club meal/meetings. Any interested person will be our guest for the meal if you are interested in joining Tampico Lions Club.
The Tampico Lions are currently collecting used Christmas Lights and Eye Glasses.
Again, all previous Members of the Sauk Valley Lions Club are welcome to join our club. Your membership will still count with Lions Club International (LCI) if you transfer your membership to another Lions Club within 6 months, after that you can join as a new member.
We really need more members, especially younger members as our average age of our club members is around 70 years of age.
We meet on the 2nd & 4th Monday of the months January, February, March, April, June, September, October and on the 2nd Monday of the months May, November, and December due to the holidays falling close to the 4th Monday of those months. We are on Summer Break July and August. So if anyone is interested in Joining the Tampico Lions Club please come to our meal/meetings at 7 PM in the Tampico Area Community Building, 106 W. Market St., Tampico, IL 61283 or please call me at 815-535-3665 so we will have enough food if you plan to come.
