Recently the Tampico Lions Club proudly awarded $500 scholarships to Emma Megli and Alexis Miniel from the Prophetstown High School Class of 2023. Both students were selected for submitting winning essays on the topic, “How do you feel the Lions and Leo Club in your area help the community?”
After a review of all the submitted essays the Lions voted on the winning submissions last meeting. Lion Terry Gaskill said he felt all of the submissions were winners. The scholarships will be sent to the winners’ educational institutions after the student has completed two weeks of schooling.
