The Prophetstown High School trap shooting competed at the Illinois High School Clay Target League state finals last weekend in Bunker Hill, Illinois. Twenty members of the team participated. The boys’ varsity team placed 13 in a field of 34. The same team was also honored for the 2nd place finish in the conference.
The team had competitors in several classifications including Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Novice with both male and female categories.
The top finishers included:
Novice Division, Female: Emily McElhiney 6th 70/100 31 competitors
JV Division, Male : Gunnar Wuebben 4th 92/100, Hunter Harms T5th 89/100, Max Jones T21st 84/100. (149 competitors)
JV Division, Female: Sabrina Soleta 11th 76/100, Haley Shafer T18th 71/100, Mysti Moody 21st 67/100. (26 competitors)
Varsity Division, Male: Brody Grimes T32nd 95/100, Jacob Johnson 51st 93/100, Sean Sandrock T61 92/100. (233 competitors)
Gunnar Weubben, Max Vahle, andBrody Grimes, all earned a 25 straight patch during the competition.
