For some fun on the last day of classes before Christmas break, the PLT Middle School Student Council gave student the perfect gift; teacher payback.
The council spent a few weeks selling students the chance to douse staff members with silly string. The group also held a bake sale with the idea of using the collected funds to gift students with EP apparel.
After collecting almost $600, the council purchased EP Panther apparel items from the EP Booster Club. A school wide drawing was held with twenty-one lucky students winning the chance to select a piece of EP swag.
On Tuesday afternoon the students assembled in the gym to spray and watch several staff members, who were brave enough to face the cold feeling goo in a can, get “strung”. The final spray of the day went to Principal, Janet Barnhart who got hit with ten cans of rainbow colored string simultaneously from five staff members, to the delight of the student body.
Eighth grader, Kennedi Shaffer, who is council president, was overjoyed with the results of the group’s work. “I am very happy with how it went”, said Shaffer.
