After years of battling the elements, Bob Hatheway, the owner of Shaw’s Marketplace in Prophetstown, no longer has to find a method to keep him and his cooking crew comfortable.

Over the past few weeks Bob and his family erected a gazebo next to the store that will house their “Grilled Meat Saturdays” event. The wooden structure will provide shelter for the grill and serving area for the very popular, annual warm weather attraction.

“The gazebo is very close to being finished”, said Hatheway. “What’s left is to build a table on the inside and add electricity and do a little cleanup.”

You can stop in and buy a variety of grilled items on Saturdays from 11-2 along with chips and drinks at the grill located on Main Street.

A nice addition to a great tradition.

Patrons line the sidewalk in front of Shaw’s new grilling gazebo.
