Harvest Bakery and More owner Jen Temple wanted to do a little giving back to the community just before Easter, so she decided to host an Easter Lunch for seniors.
Temple invited area retirees to a Good Friday meal featuring ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, a vegetable, drink, and dessert for just $5. She put a post on the restaurant’s Facebook page and promptly received over 100 reservations.
With the help of her staff and about a dozen Erie Middle School students well over 100 meals were served between 11AM and 1PM.
Erie High School student McKenzie Winckler organized the middle schoolers and guided them through their first public food serving experience.
The crowd looked to be enjoying themselves as they got their Easter Ham a little early.
