As foreshadowed by Prophetstown Mayor, Steve Swanson at the December city council meeting, Republic Services has announced that they have purchased Moring Disposal. Moring serves Prophetstown and Erie with the Village of Tampico served by Republic.
A statement regarding the merger from Moring said, “On December 15, 2022, Moring Disposal of Illinois merged operations with another capable and customer-focused environmental services company, Republic Services. With our new name comes a collection of other great benefits, in addition to our current waste and recycling services. We are now part of Republic Services, Inc., a leader in the U.S. environmental services industry.
The company went on to say that there will be no immediate changes of any kind. Services, payments, and customer service numbers will all remain the same.
