Prophetstown Parade Day Rundown

The 36th annual Prophetstown Lighted Christmas Parade will step off at 6:30 on Saturday night, which will culminate a day of events and activities. Visit with Santa, compete in the reindeer dash, ride in a horse drawn carriage, get your hand painted, enjoy food and treats, witness the lighting of the Love Light Tree, are just some of the activities to take part in.

The Prophetstown Public Works Department will close access to Main Street beginning at 3:00 in preparation for events.

This year’s parade theme is “Candyland” and will feature over forty entries. KWQC’s Chief Meteorologist Erik Maitland and other TV-6 on-air news personalities will serve as judges for the parade.

Check-in and lineup will begin at 5:15 pm on West Railroad St. and Lafayette St. Access to the lineup area will be from Locust St. and W. 3rd St.

The day will begin with several Main Street businesses holding extended hours and offering holiday specials to celebrate Small Business Saturday.

The Prophetstown Park District will once again host its REINDEER DASH for kids on Main Street starting at 4:00. There will be multiple age divisions from under 1-12 with each age group running a different distance.

Various stores will host activities for the kids including writing letters to Santa.
