PLT#3 Bus Involved In Minor Accident

Responders check on passengers after a PLT#3 school bus and a red minivan were involved in a minor accident on Thursday.
The school bus was occupied by 1 additional adult and 7 juveniles. No occupants claimed any type of injury from the crash but all of the passengers were examined by emergency personnel and released to their guardians.

A fifteen passenger PLT#3 mini bus was involved in a minor accident just before 3:30 p.m. on Thursday in Prophetstown at the intersection of Locust and W. 7th St.

According to Prophetstown Police a northbound minivan driven by Brina Matthews, 25 of Prophetstown, had entered the intersection and was struck by a westbound school bus driven by Susan Meiers, 68 of Morrison. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

The school bus was occupied by 1 additional adult and 7 juveniles. No occupants claimed any type of injury from the crash but all of the passengers were examined by emergency personnel and released to their guardians.

Due to conflicting witness statements, the incident remains under investigation.

Prophetstown Police were assisted by Prophetstown Fire, Lyndon Fire, Prophetstown Ambulance, and Erie Ambulance.
