Pat’s Table Executive Director, Lindsey Andersen, reported a great turnout for the organization’ first drive-thru event.
Forty-nine meals were served on Monday night and it was the first community meal served since the weekly community meal shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Andersen said she felt the organization had to do something to carry on its mission of serving a free weekly meal at the Prophetstown United Methodist Church, despite the current social challenges and decided on a drive-thru event.
Participants were asked to use the church’s circle drive to pick up the prepackaged meals and were invited to participate in another drive-thru event scheduled for Monday, October 12th from 5 – 6 PM.
The organization is looking into possibly doing a Bingo or Trivia Night and is gauging interest. Social distancing and PPE would be practiced and only 30 people would be allowed to attend. Pre-registration would be required and no food would be allowed.
