Six EP Panther athletes will take part in the IHSA State Track Finals starting Thursday in Charleston. Caleb Eads, Triple Jump; Parker Holldorf, Pole Vault; 4x800m Relay, Charlie Link, Lucas Dreisbach, Wyatt Beck, and Gus Schultz.
Holldorf was the only event winner for the Panthers taking first in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.12m, his best this season. Teammate Aidan Jepson placed third clearing 3.40m. The top two finishers in each event qualify for the state meet along with those who meet the qualifying standards.
Caleb Eads advanced with a third place leap in the triple jump of 12.79m.
The 4x800m Relay team placed 4th but qualified on time with an 8:31.50. The qualification was extremely satisfying to Panther distance man Charlie Link as he had two 4th place finishes in the meet with a 2:03.03, a PR, in the 800m and missed the 1600m qualifying time by 3/100ths running a 4:39.83.
The Panther finished 6th in a field of 16 with 41 points.
