The EP Panther boys track team finally got some decent weather conditions to compete in as they traveled to Rochelle on Saturday to take part in the Hub Relays.

The Panther 4 x 800 M relay continues to standout as they took first in the field of seven with a time of 8:30.30. Tyson Skinner, Charlie Link, Lucas Dreisbach and Wyatt Beck beat the second place team by 21 seconds. Their time was nearly six seconds faster than their effort at Fulton last Tuesday and is easily under the IHSA State Finals qualifying time of 8:33.28.

Skinner also shined in the 3200m taking second with a PR time of 10:33.

The varsity 4 x 400m Relay placed third in a time of 3:42.24 seconds with Link, Beck, Dreisbach, and Gavin Adams toting the stick.

The 4 x 200 m F/S Relay placed fourth with Sawyer Copeland, Jaquin Glines, Jake Ivey, and Jordae Crow turning in a time of 1:46.14 seconds.

In the field events Caleb Eads took first in the triple jump with a season best 12.43m and also placed fourth in the long jump with a leap of 5.87m. Aiden Jepson finished second in the pole vault clearing 3.48 m

The Panthers took seventh in the eight team field with 33 points. Rockford McChesney Park Harlem won the meet with 103 points with Dixon taking second with 96.

Both boys and girls Panther teams will compete at Orion on Monday in a meet, which was moved from Tuesday to try and avoid predicted weather.
