The EP Panther wrestling team finished up the two day Abe’s Rumble team duals in Springfield on Friday.

60 Class 1A teams from across the state take part in the annual meet with an opening round of pool competition, which then moves to a bracketed format.

EP qualified for the 32 team championship round after placing 2nd in their pool. A loss then sent them to the silver division where they place 13th.

Jase Grunder went undefeated in the tournament with Wyatt Goosend losing just one match.

Coach Tod McCullough said, “The kids wrestled really well placing 29th overall, which is great for such a young team”. The Panthers have just one senior on this year’s squad.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday when they travel to Newman.
