The EP Panthers boys basketball team fell to Fulton in their Orion tourney opener late Tuesday 59-42. It was Fulton’s second game of their season and the Steamers jumped out to a 15-10 lead after one period.

Fulton buried numerous 3 pointers in the second quarter and outscored EP 20-4 in those 8 minutes to open a 35-14 halftime lead. An evenly played third quarter allowed the Steamers to take a 50-25 lead into the fourth quarter.

The Panthers continued to play hard and behind 6 quick points from Caleb Naftzger closed the gap to 50-35 early in the fourth but couldn’t get any closer the rest of the way.

The Panthers continue to play in the tourney tonight (Wednesday) at 5:30 against Mercer County and Friday at 6 versus Ridgewood. EP’s Saturday game will be determined by their pool play record.
