EP Panther sophomore pitcher Nate Packer accomplished a rarity in baseball, at any level, as he threw a perfect game on Tuesday night against Morrison
The F/S Panthers blasted the Mustangs 13-0 shortening Packers outing to 5 innings. “The only contact he allowed were two weakly hit ground balls that were handled easily by the infield (one by Nate himself),” said coach Kyle Foster. “He kept kids off balance all night mixing his fastball with a solid change up and curveball. It’s the best he has thrown yet this year, and we’re hoping this win gets us on a roll moving forward.”
Packer faced just 15 batters striking out 13. He also had a hit and 2 RBIs in the contest.
