Steven William Wisdom, 64, of Erie, IL, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023. He had overcome a heart condition for decades, only to succumb as he attempted one last open heart procedure.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Erie. Visitation will be from 4 – 7 pm with a Rosary at 3:30 pm on Friday at Gibson – Bode Funeral Home, Erie. Burial will be in the Erie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Steven was born April 27, 1958, in Erie, IL, the son of William and Joyce Wisdom. He was an avid antique and model car fanatic; he loved building and perfecting his 56’ chevy. He had a passion for speed and racing; continuing to support Nascar and dirt track racing with his father, family, and friends through his life. There wasn’t a western movie he hadn’t seen time and time again with joy. He began farming at a young age and continued nature’s business and all its evolutions through his years. He helped run Wisdom Trucking, Inc, as well as The Wisest Choice quality foods through his career.
Surviving are his mother, Joyce Wisdom, Erie, IL; children Beau (Suzette) Wisdom, New Orleans, LA, Abbie Wisdom, Culver City, CA and Carson Russell, Prophetstown, IL; sister Chris (Al) Livingston, Erie, IL, brother Dan (Peggy) Wisdom, Geneseo, IL, sister Mary (Clint) Thulen, Fenton, IL, brother Bill (Kara) Wisdom, Erie, IL, and grandchildren Jackson and Sydney Wisdom Rose, Culver City, CA.
