Larry Joe Cady, 79, of Tampico, died on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at OSF St. Anthony
Medical Center in Rockford.
Larry was born on January 21, 1944, in Deer Grove, the son of Leslie D. and LaVonne (Dixon) Cady. He married Sharon Bruder on February 21, 1965, in Tampico. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2016. Larry enjoyed fishing, camping, and dirt track racing. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, David (Mary) Cady, Michael (Kimberly) Cady, all of Tampico, and Steven (Amy) Cady, of Sterling; three sisters, Rita (Paul) Jones, of Freeport, Deb (Mark) Garland, of Beaufort, SC,
and JoAnne (Phil) Baeza, of Rock Falls; one brother, Neil (Jerria) Cady, of Lake Caroll; eight grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two step-great grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Sharon.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 2:00-4:00pm on
Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Garland Funeral Home in Tampico. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be
made to Tampico Ambulance Service. Interment will be at Tampico Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
