He was born on May 29, 1937, in Leroy, Illinois. Son of Darrell and Helen (Gulley) Hart. He loved playing basketball at Rock Falls High School before enlisting in the Army where he served time in DC before marrying the sweetest girl of Rock Falls High School, Sondra Viren, on August 8, 1964. He took Sondra to DC for their honeymoon.
He was a hardworking man at the mill for 42 years. He enjoyed watching his sports, drag racing and traveling to NASCAR events with friends and family. His second home was having coffee with his high school buddies at Nicks.
Survivors include his three sons: Tarry Hart of Rock Falls, Leroy (Patty Martinez) Hart of Rock Falls, Gary (Gretchen) Hart of Crystal Lake. His sisters; Wilma “Billie” Hasselman of Phoenix, AZ, Patsy Munson of Bullhead City, AZ and Betty Tanahill Pratt of Rock Island, IL. Five grandchildren; Dakota Franks, Jalen Hart, Ryann Hart, Joslin Hart and Grant Hart.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life Sondra and his parents.
Graveside family service will be at Coloma Township Cemetery at 1pm on Saturday, November 25th following with a celebration of life at Nicks Tab in Rock Falls from 3-7pm.
