Obituary- June E. Ufkin

June E. Ufkin, 90 died Wednesday March 15, 2023 at Resthave Home in Morrison.

She was born on October 16, 1932 in Sterling, the daughter of Fritz and Alma (Stern) Rosenow and was a graduate of Sterling High School. June married Kenneth W. Ufkin on March 8, 1953 in Rock Falls. He died August 31, 2006. She was employed for several years at Dana Corporation in Sterling prior to retiring. She also helped her late husband on the family farm in rural Lyndon for many years. June was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls and had bowled for many years on the church league. She had enjoyed traveling; playing cards with her friends for many years; playing dominos; working word search puzzles; watching game shows. She was a Chicago CUBS fan.

Survivors include her daughter Barbara (Robert) Vegter of Morrison; her son Steve (Kathy) Ufkin of Lyndon; her grandchildren Andrea (Tyler) Hayes and her grandson Jay Ufkin; her great grandchild baby Hayes to arrive April 7, 2023; her step grandchildren: Rob (Cathleen) Vegter and Kelli (Bryan) Dunn; her step great grandchildren: Ashely (Tony) VanderLeest, Bryce and Jacob Vegter, Wes, Taylor, Tyler and Mason Dunn; her step great great grandchildren: Bennett and Oaklynn  VanderLeest.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter Beverly Ryan; and her grandson Scott Ufkin.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 22, 2023 from 9:30 – 11 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 11 AM with the Reverend Bree Truax officiating. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to McDonald Funeral Homes.
