The EP middle schoolers participated in the Oregon Open cross country meet last Saturday taking on 349 runners, many from much larger schools. The Panther boys had a big day placing five runners in the top twenty-five.

Top finishers for the boys were: Charlie Link (7th), Jacob Gibson (12th), Aiden Jepson, Zeke Weidel, and Lucas Dreisbach all in the top 25. The girls top 5 finishers were: Jillian Norman, Sarah Link, Aubrey Huisman, Brooke Lalley, and Madisyn Dornbush. “The girls have been up against a strong Dixon team in every meet and Dixon was strong again placing 10 runners in the top 20 spots, so it’s been tough, but this Thursday we are going to be purple people eaters,” said Coach Sheryl VonHolten. EP travels to Rock Falls on Thursday to compete at Centennial Park at 4:30.

“The kids stepped up to our challenge for this meet. We asked them to work on moving up in the pack and pushing themselves further than they have before, as we are halfway through the season with sectionals in five weeks,” added VonHolten.
