“I couldn’t be more proud of the girls,” is how coach Brad Tichler described his reaction to his team’s performance at the Three Rivers Athletic Conference golf meet at Saukie Golf Course in Rock Island on Wednesday.

The team shot a 384 behind favorite Rockridge’s 330. Sherrard took third with a 396 in the seven team field.

“We all knew Rockridge was the favorite and I told the girls that we have nothing to lose. We talked about a key at Saukie would be to keep the ball in play as the course has wooded areas and tall grass areas and the girls did a great job with avoiding them throughout the day,” said Tichler.

EP placed two golfers in the top 10 with Izzy Johnston (90) tying for 5th and Lillian McWilliams (96) taking 9th. Both earned first team All-Conference honors.

Hannah Huisman (99) and Jaelin Hawkins (99) tied for 12th. Michelle Naftzger (103) tied for 19th. All three earned 2nd team All-Conference honors. Gabi Abell also competed for EP and tied for 26th.

“Having all 6 girls play well and all finish in the top 26 has shown how much they have improved throughout the year,” added Tichler.
