The EP F/S football team picked their fifth win of the season as they defeated Monmouth-Roseville 28-12 on Monday night in Erie.
Coach Kyle Foster said, “It was a great team win, we played really well in all 3 phases tonight. We were able to come out and score quickly to start the game, which helped our guys get into a rhythm. Monmouth was pretty sound in their approach to the game, and they have a fairly talented team overall. Our guys were up to the challenge and stepped up.”
Foster said the play of freshman Demetree Larsen was a key to the win playing a great game on both sides of the ball. “We also got a ton of contributions from everyone on the roster, with everyone seeing quality time. We were especially happy with the effort of first year freshman Matt Quimby, who has really started to show some spunk when he gets to go into the game,” added Foster.
The Panthers will wrap up their season next Monday in Morrison. “We are very excited to see what these guys can do next week”, added Foster. “We’re hoping to go out on a high note and finish at 6-2 for the year, which would be an awesome way to build confidence for them heading into next season”.
