Screenings are a necessity for the district’s grant. All children who will be 3 years old by September 1 of the upcoming school year are required to be screened in order to attend Erie Pre-K. If your child is currently enrolled in Pre-K, they do not need to be re-screened.

Each screening takes about 45 minutes as children are put through simple cognitive, fine motor, hearing, and vision screenings. Nurses will be available for hearing and vision testing as well.

The Erie Preschool program runs five days a week for three hours per day, with full bus services offered within the district. At Erie Preschool, children develop the social, emotional and pre-academic skills through a high-quality program that brings together qualified staff, a proven curriculum, and parent involvement to help prepare children for success in school.

Classes have at most a 10:1 student to adult ratio. The Preschool parent/program coordinator oversees activities, parent programs and registration. Being housed in the same building as kindergarten students helps transition students into the school setting. Pre-K A.M. hours are 7:50 – 10:45, and P.M. hours are 12:00 – 2:55.
