As Erie winds its way towards it sesquicentennial celebration one week from today, two big projects have been completed.

Five new welcome signs have been erected on the major roads leading into the Village. The new signage was made possible by a donation from Mel and Marlene Saad. The signs incorporate the new branding slogan “All Roads Lead To Erie”.

Fundraising for landscaping around the signs is underway in the form of a 50/50 raffle. Only 100 tickets will be sold, with 3 chances to win cash prizes. Tickets can be purchased for $50.

The final major piece of the makeover of Margaret Park, in the center of the village’s downtown triangle, has also been completed. Several pallets of sod were delivered and installed by Village public works employees and volunteers on Thursday.

The Village’s 150th birthday celebration kicks off Friday.
