The Panther Volleyball Team gathered for their end of the season celebration last week. The team had a slow start to the season but caught fire putting together a 10 match winning streak at one point. The varsity group garnered several tournament championships with four players earning post-season honors.

Head coach, Heather Bruns said the season was, “definitely one to remember” and was impressed with the team mentality of the group. “The girls were the true definition of a team and each one of them played a role every given night. The entire team was on the same page and truly loved and celebrated one another’s successes. We saw a huge boost in confidence throughout the season by many of the girls which in turn led to a boost in success of the team.”

She also spoke about the future of the program. “The varsity squad started the season at 3-6 and ended at 26-10 which is a huge testament to the work that they put in this season. We saw many girls do great things. The loss of the 6 seniors will be a huge void to fill, however I feel like our underclassmen are ready to come up and support the juniors and continue on with the success that was laid out for them this year. It was an emotional end to the season but the memories that were made will last these girls a lifetime. They won 3/4 tournaments not dropping a set in a any of the tournaments that they won. That is a hard thing to do but the grit, determination, and love for their teammates made that success possible!”

The program has had great support both in and outside the gym for the past several years and the past season was no different. “We are so thankful to the support from our Panther family and our student section each night. We are blessed with the best following knowing that we were always going to have full stands at our games. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported us this season!”
