The Whiteside County Health Department shared data today comparing the number of confirmed COVID-19 over the past several weeks. Whiteside saw an approximate 125% increase in cases in the past two weeks when compared to the previous two weeks. With a substantial increase among individuals in their 50s followed by those in their 40s.
Emergency Response Coordinator Cory Law said,”While we expected an increase in Phase 4, our increase is concerning. We must all continue to work together to keep new infections down.”
The department reminds everyone to Wear a face covering, Wash hands frequently, and Maintain social distance.
In addition to the monthly numbers the department announced 4 new laboratory confirmed cases and 1 recovery of COVID-19. Cases: (3)Under 20, (1)50s
Illinois announced 1,298 new cases and 10 additional deaths.
