Prophetstown resident Tara Miller recently started thinking about Halloween and wanted to make sure that children would have a safe opportunity to gather treats. “I decided to do this event because let’s face it, this year hasn’t been the best for anyone, but especially for the children,” she said.
After making a few phone calls Miller found out that the Prophetstown Lutheran Church had decided to not hold their annual Trunk-or-Treat event, so she decided to organize a Prophetstown Community Trunk-or-Treat.
Miller said, “I’m looking for anyone who wants to set up either a table or use their vehicle and my hope is to continue doing this year after year.” With the help of the Prophetstown United Methodist Church and Pat’s Table she organizing the event that will be a great opportunity for kids to have some fun at a socially distanced event.
Miller is inviting those who would like to participate to either set up a tables in the horseshoe of the Methodist Church or park a vehicle be in the parking lot across the street. There are no reservations required to save a spot and those participating are asked to set up at least 30 minutes prior to the event.
Pat’s Table will be serving Walking Tacos and bottled water.
“I just want to make a memorable evening for the children of our community”, said Miller.

Please join us in making this year a Great one for the children! Plan to bring a folding table that you decorate and hand out prepackaged goodies. If you would prefer to use your vehicle then you will be located in the parking lot, tables will be in the horseshoe.
No reservations will be required. All we ask is that you have no games due to the virus, and not to send children to the next location till it’s clear. You are encouraged to wear masks and have hand sanitizer available.
