The Prophetstown Main Street organization is seeking entries and invites everyone to its 34th annual lighted Christmas parade. The parade will be held on Saturday, November 30th beginning at 6:30 PM.
Prior to the parade Main Street will be closed to all traffic and parking beginning at 3:30. We invite everyone to enjoy strolling the downtown area as it is also” Small Business Saturday.”
Local businesses will have extended hours for holiday shopping. A number of them will also have children’s activities including:
A visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus- Fire Station 3:30 – 5:30
Face Painting- Hanford Insurance Agency 3:30 – 5:30
Letters to Santa- Ann’s Hair Salon 3:30 – 5:30
Reindeer Food Making-Hometown Hardware 3:00 – 6:00
Cookie Decorating- Main Street Office 3:30 – 5:30
Coloring Pages- Hartig Drug 3:30 -5:30
The lighting of the Love Light Tree takes place at 5:30 in Eclipse Square.
Food vendors will offer wares on Main Street and a chili supper sponsored by the Prophetstown Masonic Lodge will be held at the fire station. Strolling musicians, goodies, and hot chocolate will also be found on Main Street prior to the parade.
Special guest judges for the parade this year are Meteorologist Eric Maitland, and News Anchor Morgan Ottier from KWQC-TV 6.
