IHSA Pork & Pigskins: Voting Starts Today

The winning school will receive a prize package from the Illinois Pork Producers Association that includes a $500 reimbursement on their pork purchase for next season, a state championship banner, and a golden spatula for the winner.

The show featured the harvesting of wheat from bundlers to self propelled combines, plowing from a hand guided single bottom to a diesel drawn six bottom, and many other demonstration of machines and their evolution on the farm.

Whiteside County Fair Office Opens Monday

The office of the secretary and treasurer are located in the building near the grandstand at the Whiteside County Fairgrounds, in Morrison, and will be open the week before the fair from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday, August 9th through Friday, August 13th. 

Bos Brothers Old Fashioned Threshing Bee Starts Friday

The majority of wheat binding will take place on Friday with threshing occurring each day. One special event, "muscle tractor" plowing will take place on Saturday afternoon in a field one mile south of the show grounds.
