The PLT#3 School District will be partnering with United Way of Whiteside County this fall to present a program called Born Learning Academy. The free program helps parents, families, and caregivers to promote school readiness and literacy.
The free program consists of six sessions spread over a three-week period. Each session begins at 5:00 with a meal followed by a one-hour session, with childcare provided. The program features giveaways including age-appropriate books, gift cards, and hygiene/clothing items.
Program literature says, “What parents and families do in the first few years really matters for a child’s future.”
